About Me

In 2011 I (Lu Ann Lighty ) decided it was finally time for me to pursue my long time want and desire to make my very first quilt. I had a fair amount of past experience making clothing for myself and children so I knew I was capable of doing this. In October I signed up for my first quilting class and fell in complete love. So I decided that I was going to make nine more quilts for Christmas presents that year. I had all of the quilt tops pieced in one month then tried to find someone to quilt them only to find they were all two to six months out. While shopping for fabric for another quilt I had found a quilt shop that rented time on their longarm machine with guidance from the shop staff. I quickly booked three sessions of time and not only was I back on track to getting all nine quilts done for Christmas presents I had found I loved  this just as much as I loved piecing. Since December of 2011 I have been taking every quilting class possible, both for piecing and longarm quilting at quilt shops and the Hershey Quilt Show, leading up to where I am today.  At TLC-Quilting it has become my personal mission to create a place that caters to anyone and everyone who wants to learn the art of quilting, and helping them create their own works of art and comfort. TLC-Quilting is a one stop shop specializing in teaching quilters of all ages and expertise the art of piecing and finishing their very own quilts. With a wide range of classes from introductory to advanced we are sure we will be able to meet all of your needs. However we won’t stop there we will also provide training on how to use a Gammill longarm machine, renting time so you can finish your very own projects.
